Mission of Fund
The Shamrock Animal Fund is a 501c3 not for profit fund that helps pay for veterinary care for local animals with medical need that have owners with financial limitations. Funds raised through The Shamrock Animal Fund are paid directly to veterinarians that provide discounted care to these animals.
Since its inception in 2010 the Shamrock Animal Fund has worked with numerous veterinary hospitals assisting animals from nine Central New York counties. We currently receive five requests for assistance via e-mail & phone per day.
In addition, the Shamrock Animal Fund is a catalyst in implementing Healthy Pet Clinics at Assumption and St. Lucy’s church gyms. This is a collaborative volunteer endeavor with Cornell Shelter Medicine Program, local animal welfare agencies and veterinarians. The clinics serve animals and their owners residing in Syracuse’s most impoverished neighborhoods. In the past eighteen months more than 1,000 animals have received vet exams, vaccinations and treatment at the clinics.
